Five Family Vacation Must Haves

1/16/2009

Families seem to be plagued by the problem of spending time and bonding together. Due to the constant hectic schedules of both parents and children they seem to spend less and less time together. This situation seems to result to family members growing apart instead of growing closer.

Raising a family doesn't mean that parents and children cannot have fun. Sometimes the constant pressure and the constant stress can contribute to families breaking apart. This problem is really not that inevitable.

There are some ways to keep the family together and strong and one of which is going on a family vacation. The idea of a family vacation can be overwhelming and you might end up forgetting some things. Well, here's a short list of your family vacation must haves.

1. Camera/Video Camera. Going on a family vacation can be a very memorable event especially for the kids so you would want to keep this memory alive. When packing do not forget this. There is no better way to capture a memory than having it as a picture. When the vacation is over you can happily look at the pictures and remember how much fun you had. You might not be able to go that very same place again but you can always look at the pictures you took.

2. Extra clothes. You know how accidents happen especially when you have kids. Children can either pee or poo with their pants on. They can spill ice cream on their shirts. In case these situations arise, then you won't have to panic. All you have to do is to get those extra pants or shirts. Extra clothing doesn't apply to kids only but also for the parents as well. You will never know what's in store for you so it is better to be prepared.

3. First Aid Kit. Just in case someone in your family injures his or herself it would be best to have a first aid kit on hand. Too much excitement can cause someone especially children to act without thinking. They can be jumping and running around. First aid kits usually contain a small gauze, antiseptic solutions and adhesive tapes.

4. Vitamins. Since you will be going to places you've never been too it would be a good idea to keep your body especially your immune system in tip top shape. Getting sick while on vacation can ruin the fun big time and you might end up feeling depressed and sad because you didn't enjoy it. It has been said that prevention is better than cure so for you to enjoy your vacation with your family to the fullest don't forget to take your vitamins. These vitamins can keep your immune system in tip top shape so it can continuously ward-off disease causing microorganisms.

5. Identification. This is very important because you'll never know which places will ask for your ID and which won't. Identification cards are also important especially to your kids in case they get lost or anything.

Before you go on a vacation it would be best if you make a check list about the things that your family should bring. It is better to be prepared than be caught off guard.
